Oil rigs on the southern approach to Los Angeles harbour. The Santa Barbara Channel further north is well known for natural leakage of oil - thin patches are seen often on the sea surface.
Weather window for rounding Pt Conception on Thursday is still looking good. Things could change but I'm getting in position to be ready just in case.
Seeing friends in San Pedro tonight and on to Oxnard tomorrow
