RTW Day 234: N. Pacific : Good East Wind - We Head N at Last

Wednesday 12th of June

Glimpses of the sun - briefly this morning and at sunset tonight. Light cloud cover with hint of sun over the rest of the day. Present close-hauled sailing, making a good course northward in E wind of around 10kt in fairly calm seas since tacking onto starboard last night.

Soon after nightfall, had to come off the wind a touch to keep on course, as the wind veered to ESE.  It's likely to veer more overnight, so I'll probably have to check on our course and adjust Fred quite often.

Weatherfaxes show wind veering to SE and then to S over the next few days.

A lovely sunset - light lingered in W sky for a long time - sign that we are in higher latitudes, well away from Tropics.
